The rig was developed using a pair of Arri Alexa’s but will accept most full size camera and lens packages.
STABILIZED HEAD WITH REMOTE IO ADJUSTMENT
AND HEAD BALANCE SYSTEM
This gives film makers more time in the air filming and less time on the ground adjusting.
Helicopter time is expensive, so obviously the more time spent up in the air filming, the more productive efficient and economic the process becomes.
Previously it was necessary to return to base, land and reposition the cameras for a new IO setting, then rebalance the remote head for optimum performance.
With this system the entire process can be adjusted from inside the helicopter. All that is required is for the stereographer to chart the required IO settings prior to flight time.
The same Preston system that is used for camera run and synchronized lens control is used to control the IO setting and automatic balance adjustment.
